The Ruth Gorse Academy in the South Bank of Leeds was recently graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in their inspection report. The school achieved the outstanding grade in all four categories which Ofsted judge.
Ruth Gorse Academy began its second year on their site in the South Bank in September 2017. It currently serves children from years 7,8, 9 and 10 and has over 800 students enrolled.
The exceptionally skilful principal and her leadership team ensure that the school's philosophy of high expectations, high aspirations and a personalised approach has top priority. Disadvantaged pupils and pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities are very well cared for. They make outstanding progress because leaders ensure that they spend additional funds successfully to support pupils overcome their barriers to learning. Pupils' attitudes to learning are superb. They work hard because they want to do well.
