A remarkable local community event with a global reach to thousands will be taking place. The cast of the independent British film ONCE A YEAR ON BLACKPOOL SANDS a true story of courage defence and triumph within the hidden and illegal LGBTQ community of the time Summer 1953,are replicating the same 15 minute walk that 6 remarkable people took from the North to South pier one night in Blackpool in what must surely have been the first origins and element of a walk that what would become, many years later PRIDE. The 15 minute walk will start at the Fibre Bar at 4pm and will end at the Leeds Town Hall in Millennium Square at around 4.15pm Baby Dog films the producers are hoping to help raise extra funds to help get this film now fully in production to the big screen by the end of this year and to equally pay respect to all the LGBTQ pioneers who fought for the freedoms we have today something we must never lose sight off. Please come down and join a few surprise celebrities and the cast of the film that will be premiering in Yorkshire and LA at the end of the year.
