The Tetley's annual micro-festival that brings its programme to life!
The culmination of a week long performance art intensive workshop for 11 artists, six based in the UK and five based in south Asia. Led by Nikhil Chopra, Madhavi Gore and Jana Perpeluh, working collectively as BODYWORKSHOP, The Tetley has functioned as a laboratory over the last week, incubating new works and collaborations between artists.
This weekend sees the public presentation of existing works, works in progress and new collaborations. Throughout the weekend visitors can see performances, take part in workshops inspired by south Asian culture and join the artists in conversation.

FRIDAY 4 AUGUST
South Asian Arts-uk present Jasdeep Singh Degun, Zuheb Khan & Power of 5
Indian Music Double Bill
‘Power of 5’ is an outcome of South Asian Arts-uk 19th Annual Summer School. This new music piece will be performed by a small unique ensemble made up of young people aged 11 to 19 years old who have been learning the art of playing sitar, santoor, tabla and dilruba. The ensemble will be directed by talented Leeds musician Jasdeep Singh Degun, who will give a short performance on Sitar accompanied by visiting musician from India, Zuheb Khan on tabla. It promises to be the best music evening in town!

SATURDAY 5 AUGUST
Live performances by all the participants of the Performance Arts Intensive will take place throughout the day.
Drop-in Family Workshop take part in a Bhangra dancing or henna workshop.
Performance Artists Talk: a panel of artists from South Asia & the UK discuss their work. Reserve a place for the talk here.

Party In The Gallery: Join the artists from the Performance Art Intensive for a free party in the galleries. With drinks offers and a DJ set from DIPAK (DisOriental, No Hands, Trainer Trouble) playing Bollywood Classics, Post Post Modern Future Asian Beats, Funk, Soul, Breaks and Vibes…
